Wanderers ease to victory at Chatham

A resurgent Wanderers extended their unbeaten run with an extremely comfortable away win at Chatham Town on Saturday.
Wanderers excellent away form continued in a match that felt over as a contest the minute the in-form Matt Briggs scored twice in the first 20 minutes in a very one-sided affair.
Both Briggs goals were applauded by both sets of fans, as the in-demand winger produced two trademark runs before smashing home from the edge of the box.
Dominant in possession, Wanderers then spurned several chances and would have been very disappointed to only have two goals to show for their first half display.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first, with Wanderers forcing a flurry of corners. However, chances weren’t at as much of a premium as the first, but just after a disallowed goal James McShane secured the 3 points with a finish from close range.
Manager Marc White said: “It’s another pleasing performance. Our defence has conceded no goals in 3 games from open play, and that’s really key for us at the moment. I think we still need to find our shooting boots but that will come. No disrespect to Chatham, who are a fantastic club, but the margin of the score line should have been much greater”.
Wanderers are next in league action this Wednesday when they visit Lewes FC in the Ryman Division One South (7.45pm kick-off).
