New Deal For Top Striker
Posted: 8th February 2018
Leading goal scorer James McShane has signed a new deal that will keep him at Dorking Wanderers throughout next season.
The forward has been ever-present for Dorking in the Bostik Premier Division this season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions and winning regular plaudits for his skillful, energetic and committed displays.
Speaking about his decision to sign long-term for Wanderers, 27 year-old McShane said, “I love being at this club and everything it stands for. It’s an exciting project, both with the new Meadowbank stadium and the genuine ambitions to continue progressing on the pitch, playing good football and putting the town on the map. So I’m really happy being able to commit my future to Dorking.”
Manager Marc White is delighted to have secured the services of last year’s Manager’s Player of the Season right through to May 2019, despite interest from bigger clubs.
“Macca is invaluable to the squad and a big part of our plans for next season,” he said.
“In terms of his attitude and commitment, he’s as professional a player as we’ve ever had at the club. He’s also immensely popular with supporters and has been nominated in almost every Player of the Month vote so far this season.”
James McShane made his Dorking Wanderers debut in August 2016, after spells with Molesey and Staines, and is due to make his hundredth appearance for the club next month.
