White Hails New Kids On The Block And Hints There's More To Follow

Having achieved promotion to Step 3 for the first time in club history, Dorking Wanderers Manager Marc White wasted no time in strengthening last year’s successful squad, focusing on players that had played a similar level of football before. The first signing announced was Brannon O’Neill, the midfield playmaker previously with both Crawley Town and Worthing FC. A signing of significant profile followed O’Neill in Luke Moore. The 29 year old attacking midfielder has been a professional footballer since he was 17 years old, and was part of Ebbsfleet’s successful FA Trophy winning side as well as AFC Wimbledon’s promotion winning team, where he spent 3 successful seasons. Lastly, local lad and former Dorking FC player Isaac Philpott signed for his local club. The 22 year old spent last season playing in the Welsh Premier League, having previously spent time at Sutton United FC.
Manager Marc White is pleased with his recruitment so far this summer, and hinted that there may be more to follow. He said: “The promotion takes us into the unknown. Our aim is to produce a competitive team for the division, which has some significant large non-league football clubs competing”.
White continued: “There is no question that we are a small fish in a very big pond, and I think this season will be extremely challenging both on and off the field, especially as we will be moving stadiums part way through the season. With that in mind (the importance of being competitive) I am still looking to make sure the squad is as strong as possible, and I expect another signing or two before the season begins”.
